My concentration:
My concentration was based on the idea of circles. Something so simple yet something that can be absolutely stunning. I wanted to make something that everyone thinks is just a common shape into something magnificent. There are many meanings to the idea of a circle. To most it's just a shape, something that we learn way back in elementary school. But there is something more significant to it than that. A circle resembles an infinity: A beginning with no end. This can be true in all forms of the circle. For example a clock is an endless cycle of time, from 12 to 12 everyday, every week, every month, and every year. It's an infinity. Another example is the idea of the egg. Although it's not a typical form of a circle, when you look deeper there is a circle inside. This circle often resembles life. Another way I wanted show the idea of a circle is through memories. Often we associate simple things with deep memories we hold. For example my paintings of both the gumballs, and the bubbles resemble the memory of all child hood things.

Watercolor and Graphite
This is one of my favorite works that I completed this semester. To me it has a very serene and calm feel. I didn't want to create a typical flower piece, because they are so common. I just loved how calm these flowers and background were and how well they worked together.

I love this piece and how abstract it is. It's not the typical depiction of an octopus.
